Typology of Tourists' Product Demand and Service in Agriourism (case study: Mahalat county villages)

Abstract

Agritourism is an economic activity that provides services and products to tourists with agricultural. Therefore, careful examination, identification of the features, and preferences of tourists are important. Thus the purpose of the present study is to investigate the typology of agritourism demand. Methodologically, the present study is a descriptive-analytic one. The statistical population of the study includes tourists who visited the villages of the study area. This was achieved by using Cochran formula with 0.07% error of sample size of 196 tourists. The results of correlation test indicate that there is a significant relationship between the variables of age and agricultural recreation, agricultural experience and agricultural sales. Also, the results of t-test show that the average of all types of agritourism demands is higher than the tested value, so the types of agritourism demand are in good condition. The results of Friedman test show that the most demanded tourism product is rest, favorable climate, travel satisfaction, agricultural landscapes and walking in the fields. The results showe that Issa Abad village is ranked 1 in agricultural entertainment, agricultural recreation is 1 and Saadat Abad is 1 in agricultural experience and 1 in agricultural sales.
